SAFETY OF ESSENTIAL OILS IN VETRAMIL®

Vetramil Ointment and Spray are products based on medical-grade honey, developed especially for animals. These products are formulated to remain effective at the application site, even under moist conditions. Vetramil improves skin conditions while soothing and calming irritated skin. The low pH of the products supports the skin's natural acidic environment. To enhance the efficacy of Vetramil, essential oils are included. Some of these oils also impart a bitter taste to deter licking.

The following essential oils are present in Vetramil Ointment and Spray:

INCI name General name Benefit to the skin
Lavandula Angustifolia Oil Lavender oil Soothening
Melaleuca Viridiflora Leaf Oil Niaouli oil Improves skin condition
Ocimum Basilicum Oil Basil oil Bitter taste to help prevent licking
Thymus Vulgaris Flower / Leaf Oil Thyme oil Bitter taste to help prevent licking
Pogostemon cablin leaf oil Patchouli oil Improves skin condition
* Melaleuca viridiflora is also known as Melaleuca quinquenervia.

The essential oils used in Vetramil are carefully selected to ensure safety. Vetramil does not contain Tea Tree Oil (TTO). Although some essential oils may contain trace amounts of potentially toxic components like terpenes, their concentration in Vetramil is kept below 1%. The actual concentration of essential oils in Vetramil is 0.6% (by weight), which is safe for external use on pets.
